Quicks Hole Green Can #3, as lobster boat enters Vineyard Sound, MA from Buzzards Bay

Green Navigation Can/bell buoy number 3 in Quicks Hole.  The "Hole" is marked by a single buoy up top, and by two buoys in the middle.  The most southern part of the Hole is marked by a green bell buoy.

Quick's Hole is a favorite fishing spot located between Pasque and Nashawena Islands, part of the Elizabeth Island chain located in Buzzards Bay, MA.  The opening is about a half-mile wide and maybe a mile long, north to south.  The deeper waters  of the Hole can reach 47 feet at high tide and this area consists mostly of sand and gravel.  The fishing isn't the best at the middle of the opening, but as you approach either side the water becomes rock-filled, which brings in huge numbers of feeding fish. Boaters must exercise extreme caution when fishing any of the Elizabeth Islands, especially at low tide, because the rocks can destroy your propeller in a second.
